We are looking for a creative and passionate individual to fill the role of Barista at NOTA. With high standards for product quality and guest experience, the Senior Barista takes full responsibility and ownership of the coffee bar and coffee experience. Job Description

  • Welcome and interact with customers, finding their preferences and using detailed knowledge to gently recommend coffee and other beverages they will enjoy
  • Prepare a wide variety of coffees, teas and other drinks of the highest standard, following prescribed recipes and presentation techniques to ensure consistent quality
  • Coordinate the preparation of all orders from the coffee counter, enabling waiting staff to serve freshly made food and beverages promptly
  • Be prepared at quieter times to cover all aspects of the front counter role, including serving food, operating the till, waiting, and clearing tables
  • Help to develop a high performing barista team, ensuring staff understand their responsibilities and providing them with supervision, training and support
  • Maximise revenue by increasing sales, spend and conversion while minimising costs in ways that do not have negative impacts on quality or service
  • Maintain supplies of counter and bar beverages in line with forecast demand
  • Keep equipment working by following operating instructions, carrying out preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting breakdowns
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic and presentable work environment, following approved operating procedures, food safety guidelines and health and safety regulations
  • Enhance our reputation by constantly seeking opportunities to add value and improve quality by redesigning and changing processes
  • Freedom to experiment, fine-tune and create espresso, and other beverage recipes to improve guest experience

Requirements

  • At least two years of professional barista experience and, preferably, two years in customer service
  • Knowledge of Calibration and pulling a good espresso shot
  • Required Skill(s): Latte Art, Brewing, Barista

(ASSISTANT) OUTLET MANAGER any+

We're on the hunt for a people-loving individual to join us as our Assistant Outlet Manager.

Job Description

  • Regularly review product quality and research new vendors
  • Calculate future needs in kitchenware and equipment and place orders, as needed
  • Manage and store vendors’ contracts and invoices
  • Coordinate communication between front of the house and back of the house staff
  • Prepare shift schedules
  • Supervise front-of-house team and provide assistance, as needed
  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
  • Keep detailed records of daily, weekly and monthly costs and revenues
  • Arrange for new employees’ proper onboarding (scheduling trainings and ordering uniforms)

  • Competent with various computer software programs (MS Office, POS)

  • Assisting the Head Chef in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes
  • Setting up workstation with all the needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Ensuring great presentation by dressing dishing before they are served
  • Execute the tenets of mise-en-place efficiently; including, setup of the array of ingredients, the process of preparing, caring for your workstation
  • Keeping a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensuring all food and other items are stored properly
  • Checking quality of ingredients
  • Monitoring stock and place order when there are shortages
  • Enforcing strict health and hygiene standard and troubleshooting any problems that may arise

Job Description

  • Always greet and welcome guests promptly in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Always thank and give fond farewell to guests conveying anticipation for their next visit.
  • Assist guests with table reservation.
  • Assist guests while seating.
  • Ensure guests are serviced within specified time.
  • Has a good knowledge of menu and presentation standards.
  • Speak with guests and staff using clear and professional language, and answer phone calls using appropriate telephone etiquette.
  • Able to answer any questions regarding menu and assist with menu selections.
  • Able to anticipate any unexpected guest need and react promptly and tactfully.
  • Always applies service techniques correctly at all times, and serves Food & Beverage items with enthusiasm.
  • Serve food courses and beverages to guests.
  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards.
  • Record transaction / orders in Point of Sales systems at the time of order.
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding any menu questions, the length of wait and product availability.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Check with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and beverages.
  • Responsible for clearing, collecting and returning food and beverage items to the proper area.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc. throughout the shift.
  • Reviews order dockets ensuring accurate and timely preparations for order requirements accordingly.
  • Present an accurate final bill to guests and process payment.
  • Perform shift closing on the Point of sales terminal and tally cash and credit card settlements.
  • Ensures that the restaurant is always kept clean and organized, both at the front as well as the back of house areas.
  • Ensures that cafe brand standards and SOP's are consistently implemented.
  • Work with fellow staff and manager to ensure that the restaurant achieves its full potential.
  • Completes the daily responsibilities that are set for each individual shift.
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.
  • Conducts monthly inventory checks on all operating equipment and supplies.
  • Take an active role in coaching and developing junior staff.
  • Any other duties related to food and beverage service assigned by the manager.
